The European branch of Bandai Namco has revealed that a “season pass” for downloadable content will be made available for the upcoming Dragon Ball XENOVERSE video game. Additionally, even more Dragon Ball GT characters will be available for play both within the base game itself and as a part of the upcoming downloadable content.

The company’s Facebook page outlines the packs (with no specific pricing yet available):

DLC Pack 1 (Available in March 2015): 3 playable characters: GT Goku, Pan & GT Trunks; 4 Time Patrol quests; 12 Quests; 15 New Special Moves for the players’ avatars; 5 new costumes

DLC Pack 2 (release date to be confirmed later): Exclusive Playable Characters, Quests, Special moves and costumes

DLC Pack 3 (release date to be confirmed later): Turtle Hermit set, Jaco the Space Patroller and highly exclusive content!

The third DLC pack appears to be the “Patrol Perks” available to those pre-ordering the Japanese version of the game, confirming that Jaco will make his way out as a playable character internationally.

While prior games had haphazardly released additional color costumes and upgrade configurations, this will be the first set of structured and scheduled downloadable content for the Dragon Ball franchise.

A “season pass” traditionally bundles upcoming downloadable content at a moderate-to-significant discount over purchasing packs on an individual basis.

UPDATE: The North American branch of Bandai Namco has confirmed a base price of $9.99 per downloadable content pack, with the season pass netting players interested in acquiring all three packs a $5 savings at $24.99.

Dragon Ball XENOVERSE — currently in development by Dimps for Bandai Namco — will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The game is still on track for 05 February 2015 release in Japan, while other territories have shifted slightly (North America to 24 February 2015, and Europe to 27 February 2015, the lattermost of which will also act as the global PC release date).
