Why so much filler?

I know that the manga and the anime were pretty much running at the same time, so filler was necessary to keep the anime behind, but why so much? In other series like Yu Yu Hakusho, there's virtually no filler at all, but I'm sure that that's only because the manga was so vague, that they needed to ...

Re: Official "Dragon Box: The Movies" Thread

I can't tell the differance with these new pictures, they don't look at all 'clean-up' must just be me.... It is you. I present to you, the Gogeta scene. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a20/Tsukento/gogetacompare.png (Sparing Dial-Up users) Woah, that's a difference :!: You could've just kept the ...

Oh yeah, my bad :!:

I completely forgot about the Goku/Vegeta fight. I also find it odd that only Goku and Yajirobe (the only people to have been seen in Karin Tower in the canon, at least) are the only people who actually bring Senzu to the other fighters.

Karin and Yajirobe used them as food, since they don't have anything else to eat. If you eat a senzu, don't you like...not have to eat for 10 days? :? Yajirobe does have quite the appitite... They even showed what happened to Yajirobe after he chowed down too much on those in DB. I remember Future ...

I'm waiting for you guys to go over the Dragon Box for the movies (on both the podcast and site).

Umm... the top 5 was interesting, keep up the work...

Wow, this is getting pretty off topic. Back on track, I remember back in the Buu Saga when Fat Buu was terrorizing yet another city. I forget when it actually happens, but ti's after he kills Bobbidi. The entire scene is outlined without any curves. Instead, there's a thick line surrounding each cha...

If you notice Toriyama keeps varoius characters throughout the series......to give a hint of nostalgia and also to make us remember the pleasent memories of previous sagas in which that character appeared.....like if you notice, Gohan (chibi) , Chibi Goten and Trunks were all chased by a dinosaur.....

Hmm... for the longest time, I was thinking about buying all three of the DBZ pioneer movies, but with everyone talking about video quality, I'm skeptical. Would buying the Pioneer discs new make the video quality better, or is that just something that works for VHS tapes?

Sorry, but I'm one of the few who think that buying them in JP is strange (if you don't understand the language) so I buy the FUNi versions. But I gotta say, those scouters are totally BOSS ! If only I knew someone who could give us middle class guys who can't spend that much money a break down of t...

I like to think of Pilaf as an heir to some major fortune until Goku messes it all up for him (er-hem, Penguin to Batman, I know). Afterwards, he went into a slight bit of insanity, dying his skin blue, and making friends with a young woman and a dog in a ninja outfit. Since Mai and Shou have nothin...

He was in the Piccolo Daimao saga in the original DB as well. Yeah, but that was his first appearance. But oddly enough, he played a pretty big role at the end of that Saga. Maybe that's why Toriyama wanted to keep him-- because he had such a big purpose for a new character that doesn't do much aft...

DB's king

Sorry, I keep thinking of topics :?. Alright: I remember watching the finale/semi-finales of the Cell Saga, Buu Saga and Dark Dragons Saga. What I noticed was that they mentioned the king (of either the world or a sector) being part of both episodes. Now, the Dark Dragons Saga was the final saga for...

Yeah, I already knew about the RK and One piece ones, but I figured those were released because they were art books, hence, little translations necessary. I dunno about One Piece, but (as you can see from my second scan :P ), RK Profiles seems to be like what DB's Daizenshuu are; all-abou-the-serie...

Daizenshuu release in America?

Well, since I finally have some free time, I fugured I'd send an e-mail to Viz "suggesting" that they do a release of the daizenshuu in America. I know that it would be a real hassle for them to do all of that translating, but don't you think it would be worth it, especially since they cos...

Woah, I completely forgot all of those color changes. Toriyama even stays consistent with himself in the kanzenban covers by keeping the SSJ aura white, and their hair golden yellow. Well, Mr. Hujio of Kanzentai informed me of the fact that Manga-ka function on some kind of "ink budget" wh...

I never understood why Bulma's hair is a different colour in the anime than in the manga. I mean the first few chapters of the manga were in colour so Toei can't say "Um, we didn't know what colour because it was black and white". Also not just colour, but characters like Piccolo and Cell...

Coloring in Anime

Well, most of us know about the whole Saiyan armor/hair coloring incident. Because they didn't know what color to make their armor and hair in the anime (because it was in black and white in the manga), they mistakenly made Vegeta and Nappa's armor a shade of orange with some puke green. My question...

One more thing: is FUNi's background music its regular one, or did they get another band's songs for it (which really ticks me off, since it kinda doesn't make DBZ as timeless as it could be)?
