Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I think advertising Moro as a psychic would've worked out better than him being advertised as a magic user. Magic makes me think of powers that are fun and fantastical. It makes me think of an energetic, eccentric personality. I think of the gag manga style characters Toriyama's so good at. It's why...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I can't properly judge until I read the whole chapter, but this cliffhanger feels like more stalling.
It leaves me wondering what's going on behind the scenes. I'd rather them just put the manga on hold too if it's going to continue moving at such a slow pace.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread
At best, I can see them saying "and Dragon Ball has a bright future ahead, so look forward to it!". A vague statement that more or less would confirm something new, but also, that much is obvious :) This has the best chance of being what happens, imo. The theory of them announcing 2uper a...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread
I wouldn't be surprised if SDCC is where 2uper is announced. The Brolli movie seemed like it was aimed more for U.S. audiences anyway with its heavy focus on "Here's Brolli vs Gogeta; remember the nostalgic Budoukai 3 opening? Here it is, only better animated!" and the giant Gokû balloon a...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread
Even though the Moro arc is lackluster to many, I think I prefer the anime coming back way after the manga took off with it's own story. I enjoyed having two different versions of DBS but I'm ready now to follow the manga like with the original run. Even if the manga took off with it's own story, i...

Wano is an arc Oda has been excited to work on in the manga for a long while, so it's not too surprising that Toei would be working extra hard to make sure this arc looks good animated.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I’m glad I’m not the only one who is absolutely disliking this arc under basically every aspect. I was starting to be under the impression that maybe I started to grow a dislike for Dragon Ball itself considering how overhyped this new manga arc is by the majority of the fandom. Surely not having a...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread
If they're doing a new movie 2 years from now and with all the resources that goes into it, when would be a good time to return Super to TV? Or if maybe something changed behind the scenes and they're going to just stick to movies from now on. I think what's going on is that they're trying to line ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread
There's a movie coming a few years from now? Even so, a few years is still a long time. Good to know about it though. 2 of the people who worked on Broly said they got the OK for a new movie. It'll probably be another few months until they have a team of writers and producers put together and doubl...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Merus does feel like an author insert character to me. Not quite Marty Stu, but definitely not a typical character. This chapter felt like a strange combination of filler/stalling for time, and exposition. I didn't enjoy it as much as other chapters in this arc. I can see how people would enjoy it a...

Re: The artwork of the DBS manga
Sometimes Toyotaro's faces look too big and the hair looks too small. There's also not enough line variation leading me to think most of it is either done digitally or inked digitally. Other than that and the necks he's ok. I think he'll improve and change as time goes on.

Re: Serious Dragon Ball Questions For Fans About The Voice of Goku
1) Depends on the replacement. Nozawa's my preferred/favorite Gokû. If they went the Bulma route and found a suitable sound-a-like I'd continue to watch, but if it were a wildly different sounding voice then no I wouldn't. 2) I think there would be a break, out of respect, but DB would ultimately co...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread
I don't know how much money people make off of being YouTubers; I presume it's enough to make a living for the very popular. This delay/change of plans doesn't help them either. Kind of forces them into filler mode wouldn't it? Since they'd still need content to earn a living.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread
I enjoy following along a weekly series with everyone; I feel like it's more exciting and there's more camaraderie than there is with a movie, but I'd be ok if they just do movies instead because there's less commitment and until I get certain things settled or at least in a more stable place. I'd r...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I'm kind of curious as to if at some point before the anime returns they would try to have Toyotaro alter his artstyle to more closely match Shintani's new look for the franchise.

Re: DB's ending
It feels like trying to put a genie back in the bottle though, turning Shenlong back into autonomous force at the end of GT. It'd be like trying to actively ignore that Piccolo's a namekian, not a demon. Ignoring established facts in favor of nostalgia bothers me. Like what's stopping Dende and Mr. ...

Re: DB's ending
Finding a way to battle the power creep and restoring tension are the biggest problems I think DBS has at the moment. Beerus and Whis are essentially the Mom and Dad in the room full of kids and as long as they're casually hanging out with Goku and friends then nobody's in any real danger. The Omni ...
