Re: Akira Toriyama Passes Away.
Heard the news on a meme website. Didn't believe it. Checked it out anyway. And its real... Well... This hurts. I might not have known the man in person, but his influence through his work in my childhood (and beyond) was great. It feels like the death of something in my life. Had to log back here. ...

Re: MaSTAR Media (Should we talk about this?)
Note that what Mastar is doing does not fall under "fair use" as he is profiting from it. Fair use does apply when people make fan-animations, fan-art, etc. as it is considered parody or criticisms. It does not apply when profit is being made. That's not really accurate. Something like, f...

Re: MaSTAR Media (Should we talk about this?)
they don't profit directly from their videos. They profit from indirect sources, such as merchandise, donations and their gaming channel. Like this guy, then. Youtube channels, donations. Yes, it is. Teamfourstar credits the people they're taking their material That's the difference, yes. A matter ...

He receives money from youtube due to the videos he makes, Like any reviewer, debater, tester, fandubber, montage maker, top 10 maker, Let's play enthusiast, speed runner gamer, and any other kind of people that do a great number of activities based on copyrighted material and have an account on a ...

Re: MaSTAR Media (Should we talk about this?)
From my understanding, neither does this guy. Yes, he does. His videos have ads. He receives money from youtube due to the traffic and views he generates, similarly to a guy that does "Let's plays" on youtube or any other kind of similar situation. That's not direct at all. Heck, Teamfour...

Re: MaSTAR Media (Should we talk about this?)
I think things have gone too far with that channel. I've seen the comments specially in the recently released fan film of his (which I think is total garbage) and I'm starting to get worried. There's some people that go as far as saying that Toriyama is going to have to redo the whole movie because...

Re: MaSTAR Media (Should we talk about this?)
But, that is exactly the core of the relevant issue, he traces stuff from Dragonball and other series', claims its his original work a lot of the time, and then profits of it. That's my basic understanding of the problem people have with him. The core of the relevant issue is him "making money...

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
If a planet-destroying power was used to move water, the result would have been an explosion of super-heated water due to the huge amount of energy transferred. That's way too much real science for the series, and pretty much for any series with superbeings. With that level of accuracy, the mere fa...

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Surely a Super Saiyan is fast enough to avoid water? This special is putting itself in the weirdest positions to achieve a certain outcome in the story. Of all the possible problems, that's not one. The water was pushed by a force stronger than a Super Saiyan. The speed would just depend on that fo...

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Goku needs to feel an energy to get to a place with Shunkan Idou that he can actually see? I don't think so. The move has always needed to sense energy to work. This is just one of those loopholes. If this is such a "loophole" then he could solve this by using another loophole: There are ...

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
All these guest stars that I have no idea where they're from, when we should remember Beerus and Whis are still in the background, why is this impromptu Battle Royale still happening? They left. Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Even Patreon is already a stretch since it might not be a direct route of monetizing their activity but it can be seen as an indirect route, especially since they aren't actually creating their own parody from scratch but editing the official footage. Realistically, though, Patreon is a donation se...

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
They're not the licensers of the footage. It would be exactly the same as monetizing the episodes for ads on YouTube. They'd open themselves up for lawsuits by Toei if they did that. Profiting off the footage directly is illegal, hence why Patreon exists as a means for people to donate to them &...

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Out of the top of your head... More like the only instance you could find. This and the Cell Jrs are the only instances where the manga was horrifically violent. You guys act like that was way more common than it actually was. Also the Cell Jrs were barely sentient creatures anyway. Yeah, right. I'...

First you said that Toriyama wouldn't draw like that. Now you are saying that he didn't do it often?jeffbr92 wrote:You say like we had plenty of these, but were only a few scenes.
In any case DBM also doesn't have gore often.

I don't think there's anything specially gory or violent in this page compared to what we see in the series.
For example, out of the top of my head:

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Perhaps they took some inspiration from Freeza's cage in DBS? Interesting that we already saw a double-handed Makankosappo back in the Nappa fight and it looked different but maybe Salagir forgot about it or didn't know it existed. A single Makankosappo performed using both hands =/= two Makankosap...

That power up will always feel completely ridiculous to me, so, if anything, it's Freeza from Super that feels weird to me.Hellspawn28 wrote:It feels strange now seeing Freeza being weaker than SSj post-Buu saga Goku in DBM since we have grown used to his current new power in the last three years.
