Re: So, Quality control at Toei is not a thing?

I know this doesn't hold a whole lot of substance as far as this topic goes, but I've got to say, you'd think that something as universally loved as Dragon Ball is in Japan would be treated with a lot more respect. Not that this is completely outrageous or anything, but I don't see why they'd be af...

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '

Am I missing something here or is Freeza being able to regenerate his original body in that chamber a plot-hole? If there’s a healing chamber able to make full organic regeneration of a body, why didn’t King Cold use it the last time and instead we had Mecha Freeza? Sorbet specifically says in the ...

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '

DRAGON BALL Z: REVIVAL OF ‘F’ – REVIEW For seventeen outings, Dragon Ball films have largely lacked a cinematic quality; often feeling like extended episodes or rather expensive OVAs. With only minor contributions from the original author, Akira Toriyama, these films have often strayed from his dis...

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '

The script does appear to be good, though. The dialogue definitely seems to be Toriyama all the way. It's just a shame he didn't have a good director to fill in the gaps. I feel you. In a perfect world this would have had excellent direction/filmmaking to go hand in hand with the fun script. Unfort...

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '

These shots look really awkward . Eye-level shots convey a sense of the ordinary. They also make the characters look flat, like drawings rather than real people with three dimensional forms. It really takes me out of the emotion of the scene. I think these might be cropped from how they appear in t...

He did not. Where did you read that?
No guarantee was given but Tarble was indeed referenced in BoG, for what it's worth.

Re: What's the best fight scene/moment, including movies?

Vegeta vs Recoome, no contest. It's extremely short but some of the best fight choreography/animation to date. It puts the Cell fight to shame. It's also remarkable faithful to the manga. http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view7/3095571/vegeta-vs-recoome-o.gif http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view4/20140517/50385...

Re: Resurrection F Box Office Thread

Here we go! Twice as many theatres? Awesome. That's got to boost the sales, one would have thought. Let's hope it smashes the target and sets us up nicely for a third movie. 8) I'm so disappointed that there's been nothing announced regarding UK screenings, but I still have a small hope it will hap...

It's not supposed to be different though. That's just how Toriyama has been drawing Goku's hair recently (though that image specifically is from Yamamuro's version of the form, it's basically traced off Toriyama's). http://file.onepiece.ria10.com/v26.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ohK8ZFol.jpg Excuse me if...

I just watched the clip of base Goku vs Freeza, and I don't know what you guys are talking about, the timing and scene transistion seem fine to me Yeah, I have NO idea what they're referring to either. If anything feels edited, it's the first 20 min of the film or so; not the climactic fight. That ...

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '

In the end, apparently, they imply they'd never work together anyways, so lesson failed. It would have been nice to see this in action. Also, potentially funny seeing their personalities and fighting styles clash due to lack of synergy. I may be misremembering, but Whis's lesson was about Goku bein...

Re: Resurrection F Box Office - Huge ¥960 ($8.1) million ope

So I just found something out and I better make it clear now so people don't get disappointed later on. RoF did not make nearly as much money as BoG did on the Monday. It wont for the rest of the week either. In fact BoG will possibly pull in front of RoF's gross in a few days and will certainly be...

Well he is stronger or at least as strong as Goku and Vegeta so...no. It would have been so much better if he was a real threat. No, it would just have been completely different. There's an entire amazing scene in this movie where Freeza absolutely freaks the fuck out once he realizes that after al...

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '

Many people says that Whis time travel power was a Deus ex machina but my question is : 1.How can it be ? when said power is stated at the begining/first minutes of the movie therefore it didn´t come out of nowhere. You're actually correct. Because the information was set up very early on, it's not...

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '

The kotaku review makes a good point but kind of disregards the entire context of Freeza's return. Fans are already livid that he's now stronger than Gohan, imagine the reaction had he been somehow able to take both Vegeta and Goku as super saiyan god super saiyans? Yeesh. No, I thought the movie ha...

Re: Resurrection F Box Office - Weekend Estimate ¥880 millio

The idea that this film was made for a paltry 5 million is stunning to me considering that it's aimed to rake in more than 50 million + (BoG's gross international total). Toei would be mad to stop making these.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '

RoF didn't degrade his character, it accentuated it. It accentuated the bad part of his character. Fans just want character progression. When he was a small child, he was terrified to fight. By the namek arc, he's able to raise his fist whenever he needs to. That's progression. Imagine if he stayed...

Ootsuka Ken --who is now busy working on Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold for Toei Animation and Bridge--tweeted that he worked on Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu no F . That is nice to know, seeing how bad available staff availability seemed to be. I'd be really interested to read your thoughts on the animation ...
