Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 4/25/22!)
I tend to have good memory on these things.
It's kinda surreal that I remember reading that for the first time, but never realised I'd get the chance to hang out with that poster in two different sides of the world!

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 4/25/22!)
I feel like that one poster who suggested the arc could have been better if Gohan died against Fat Buu and we skipped the Mystic portion would have made the pacing. Uub is kind of uninteresting as he's just Gohan and Nam combined. Character development is a thing though. I would have preferred if he...

Re: Ok, I was Wrong: Maybe a live-action DB Movie can work.
The team designed the Nights franchise to have a distinctly British style, in contrast to Sonic the Hedgehog, which was designed to be more American. Thus, Bellbridge—the game's main setting—closely resembles London, and all of the game's characters have English accents.[17][5] Sonic is defintely a...

WIth the success of the Sonic movie, is it time for Hollywood to revisit Dragon Ball?
New Sonic movie soon and apparently

Sure, Evolution didn't exactly break any records, but a lot has changed since then. I'm sure I'd like to see someone like Edgar Wright take a shot. What you say?

I'll get to responding to the posts here later today when I finish work, but I just wanted to apologize to Cipher really quickly here. Didn't mean to drag you into this debate, it was just a post I remembered that I felt I really agreed with hence I posted it.

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 2/28/22!)
Well I won't deny Vegeta is an asshole who repeaed what he sew, it just seems Goku can be selfish and the narrative favours him. Then again, to play Devil's advocate against myself: 1.) Goku lets go off Raditz tail, and dies in battle later on as a result. 2.) Goku lets Gero build the Androids, and ...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 2/28/22!)
About Goku Vs. Vegeta. Just gonna copy and paste this post that sums up my thoughts. That's pretty much it. Vegeta only seems particularly stupid because the story doesn't magically play out in favor of his mistakes as it does with Goku. Goku gives the demon king a senzu bean, and he ends up becomin...

Re: Dragon Ball and the UK.
Z must’ve done well on Cartoon Network UK since I recall there was that one time they had those full weekend marathons. Literally a whole day of the Saiyan saga, Namek saga etc. God help anyone who hated DBZ and wanted to watch their favourite shows on Cartoon Network. It suited me fine. However, I...

Re: Dragon Ball and the UK.
The highstreets here really aren't what they used to be, with many businesses having gone under. Aside from HMV we don't really have a chain dedicated to selling brand new DVDs/Blu-rays, aside from supermarkets like Tesco and Asda that only have a small display for them. That's probably a thing of ...

Re: Dragon Ball and the UK.
Yup that correlates to my experiences. Once done with school people really stopped giving a shit about what entertainment other people are into it. Heck at a pub I frequent they recently set up a Mega Drive with Sonic 3 and FIFA 95 and you'd be surprised how many grown ass men you see playing it. To...

Re: Dragon Ball and the UK.
I've lived in UK and US and it might just be my own personal experience but I don't think anime is as popular in the UK. The only place I see anime stuff is in the shop HMV and that isn't as omnipresent as it used to be. The highstreets here really aren't what they used to be, with many businesses ...

Re: Dragon Ball and the UK.
Yeah streaming is definitly a better metric IMO since I don't know anyone who watches regular TV unless it is for sports.
The DB Super films did well but I doubt it would be on the level of something like Toy Story 4.

Re: Dragon Ball and the UK.
To be fair, perhaps that Yougov wasn't including anime. I wouldn't be surprised that was the case. I just looked at what's popular on Netflix now. On the trending now there was Disenchantment, Rick and Morty, Big Mouth, Bojack Horseman. Just checked the channels. I do see Pokemon and Dragon Ball on ...

Re: Dragon Ball and the UK.
I have always wanted to know more about the UK as a market for anime and kids animation. I want to know what they watch and enjoy. I've lived in UK and US and it might just be my own personal experience but I don't think anime is as popular in the UK. The only place I see anime stuff is in the shop...
