Once the pandemic is over, you can try going to a convention.
Personally I dislike going to nerd gatherings for other reasons, but if you're looking to meet someone whose interest is nerd stuff that's probably your best bet.

I only saw it once, but I remember feeling like the tension dropped once it was established Freeza was weaker than Goku.

Re: "Live Action Dragon Ball Z Movie"
I think Path to Power adaption would work. Couldnt really imagine something like the Saiyan arc working unless they make it episodic like films, something I'm not really a fan of.

Re: "Live Action Dragon Ball Z Movie"Quote MyVisionity by MyVisionity » Thu Jun 10, 2021 3:44 am Live action anime and manga isn't a thing in Hollywood right now, to be more specific, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I'm not sure that it even ever should. Netflix is doing a liv...

Re: "Live Action Dragon Ball Z Movie"
I doubt Evolution is holding anyone back. It's been over ten years and the movie didn't get much attention in the first place. Live action anime just isn't a thing right now. Dozens of live action adaptions of manga and anime have been made in Japan in the last ten years. Hollywood is not the end-a...

Re: Interesting or funny pictures thread
Hell, Sonic always had an "attitude" in the Japanese version, they didn't have to put a buttcrack on his face to do that. If you compare the "cool" factor of 90s American Sonic to what was coming from Sonic Team , you can see that they were clearly distinct and only one aged fuc...

Well Pikachu had a big Hollywood film so I could see Goku getting one. Although DB isnt as big as Pokemon so maybe it wouldn't receive as much investment.

Re: Audience "Stand-In" characters (Cole Young) and Narrative Liberties with Live Action Dragon Ball
Back to Insert characters, if you're adapted something that already exists, books or video game or whatnot, where the thing just begins and you might want many of the lore and story bits explained to a newcomer, you would use an insert character. Many, many movies and shows do it. You might just ne...

Re: Audience "Stand-In" characters (Cole Young) and Narrative Liberties with Live Action Dragon Ball
Seems like we're all on the same page now? I agree that gameplay and presentations are factors. MK plays compontenly enough and the presentation is good. Love how NRS gives the series a face lift each game. Characters like Kitana and Mileena look very distinct from their MK9 -> MK11 designs. Where a...

Re: Audience "Stand-In" characters (Cole Young) and Narrative Liberties with Live Action Dragon Ball
You do actually play through the story mode via playing the fights. Its not like you are watching a two hour movie straight. Anyways, I'm not saying story is the only thing that sells it, but let's look at the most helpful reviews of Mortal Kombat 11 that show up on Steam . This game is fantastic. G...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 5/24/21!)
I really wish we got more movies that weren't centered around Goku. For example, a movie set in the 1 year between Raditz and Vegeta featuring the humans as lead. Or a Vegeta in space solo movie. Always appreciated how this film attempted that.

I believe he's trying to say that story mode (and single player content in general) help make the game seem more of a viable purchase to casual gamers.

Re: Can Dragon Ball Work In Live-Action?
Dragon ball Evolution's awfulness had absolutely nothing to do with whether Dragon Ball is adaptable. Fox didn't even do the bare minimum to present Dragon Ball with any sort of faithfulness. They just cobbled together some mid-00s coming of age action nonsense and slapped the Dragon Ball names ont...

Re: Audience "Stand-In" characters (Cole Young) and Narrative Liberties with Live Action Dragon Ball
NRS didn't exist until MK 2011. Midway made the arcade games. Would James Marsden’s character in the Sonic the Hedgehog movie qualify as another case of an audience stand-in? I would say yes. That being said Sonic movie had a much smaller cast. In the MK film it felt like Cole was in the film at the...

Re: Audience "Stand-In" characters (Cole Young) and Narrative Liberties with Live Action Dragon Ball
Yeah, Kano was the Noob Saibot sihloette for MK3&UMK3 because there were ZERO traditional ninjas in vanilla MK3. Scorpion and Reptile were gone, Ermac hadn't been created yet and Smoke was the secret fighter for vanilla MK3 but as Robo Smoke not Human Ninja. MK3 introduced Clark Kent Unmasked S...

Re: Audience "Stand-In" characters (Cole Young) and Narrative Liberties with Live Action Dragon Ball
Noob had Scorpion's moves in MK2.. He and Smoke were the secret fighters in that game, which is probably why they paired them together in Deception (out of universe) and that's definitely why they both had the MK2 Klassic skins in MK9. Oh crap, you're right! Can't believe I forgot abut that. Also J...
