Are the majority of PC players using a controller like a 360 one or just keyboard? I had that problem, too. So I just went into Windows Firewall and blocked outbound connections in Xenoverse and now I'm good to go for the time being.

Well, looks like mods are finding their way around tinkering with things in the PC version already. Someone's got a tutorial on replacing the BGM.
