Re: Initial Reaction to Nozawa as Goku
I wondered why Goku a muscle bound tough fighter and strongest being in the universe had the voice of an old lady. Worked when he was a kid, laughable once he was an adult. If anything, the deep muscle bound voices of the Funimation dub with their limited range and lack of depth in their acting, is...

Re: Beerus literally awakening 3 years later?!
I'm betting on the reveal of a Dragon Ball Heroes anime after the ending of Kai but who knows at this point. I certainly would welcome a new movie announcement and it would get people excited. At the least, I hope there is something new announced at the end of Kai's run that isn't another rehash of ...

Re: Will Rock the Dragon be Funimations Final DVD Release
They won't do a new DVD release, there's no reason for them to. The Orange Bricks still fly off the shelves so why spend the money producing a new product? Maybe they'd re-release the Dragon Boxes but that's really not likely considering how long it's been now. They'll more than likely focus on Blu...

Re: Dragonball Errors
Watching Kai on Vortex and found this: http://s2.postimg.org/s2t3a132h/kai.jpg Next shot of Yamcha http://s8.postimg.org/4f1syvv2t/kai2.jpg Is the top a reused Goku shot with Yamchas head added? I don't really see what you're trying to get at here... Can you describe why you think the top sho...

Re: Favorite Faulconer track?
I realize Faulconer isn't very popular around here, for reasons I'm sure are obvious to everyone at this point, but I'm sure everyone has at least 1 track they like. My favorite track is Heroic Trunks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bwvv69WNLU Ah this really takes me back. Probably my favorite Fa...

Re: the footage rereleased and remastered
So in my opinion, Bardock and History of Trunks are the 2 best DBZ movies, even though they aren't technically movies. I bought the Bluray combo pack and I noticed that is in 16:9, and that a whole lot of footage is lost at the top and bottom of the screen. But you do gain footage on the sides: htt...

Re: Why was Final Bout titled as a DBGT game in US?
The DBZ brand name sells better then GT and GT is the least popular of the three shows. We also got Transformation a while back and that game bombed too. But Final Bout was likely the first product in the US carrying the GT name, so they wouldn't have known that GT would be far less popular than Z,...

Re: J-Stars Victory Vs. (JUMP crossover game) for PS3/Vita
How easy is this to pick up and play for someone that doesn't speak Japanese? Also does anyone know what tracks are included on the soundtrack that comes with the Anison edition? In terms of a language barrier, the game is very import friendly. If you watched a lot of these shows chances are you k...

Re: Should I Watch GT?
There definately seems to be a 'GT toned down the badassery' in regard to character designs in the Western fanbase in general. If I got a penny for every time I heard the words: 'fag', 'pussy' or 'geek' (and other generic homophobic slurs) in regard to the GT designs for Goten, Gohan, Trunks and Ve...

Re: Validity of leaving 'Kami' untranslated
As someone who has not watched the English dub for quite some time, this isn't a topic that I was able to answer right off the bat. I certainly feel that the untranslated keeping of Kami in the English dub had a lot to do with being politically correct, but that's just me. Having him called God woul...

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion
You quoted me and stated that you wanted to "go the opposite way", which is fine. But again, I'm just responding to those points, which I find nothing wrong with. I just quoted you as way to say 'here's an alternative view' rather than to counter all of yours. I certainly didn't have your...

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion
Why are you acting like people don’t know how horrible of a release this is? Blu-ray.com covered its imperfections and downgraded Season 2 accordingly. People know that this is not a faithful rendering of the content... A critic reviewing his umpteenth DBZ release knows this, but it doesn't seem li...

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion
Uh...that was quite hostile. Unnecessarily so. I wasn't attacking your points specifically but rather offering an alternative view to the one you're giving. JEFFMAN219 asked how they were and I gave him a comprehensive overview of how I felt about them. Why are you speaking as a universal 'we' and ...

Re: How would you design an English Blu-ray Dragon Box relea
Mrs. Vegeta's and Ajaylikesgamings are really nice. I do this kind of stuff for a living, so it's neat to see some neat out-of-the-box designs. Here's a design I made back when Funi was doing the level sets, trying to show how they could go in another direction with the covers. http://twistygadget....

Re: the footage rereleased and remastered
WHAT?! That is the ONLY way to watch these films in their true form? That is super fucking lame. Not even worth it if they'r not out on Bluray. I would disagree with that statement. Does that mean that the Japanese or U.S. Dragon Boxes aren't worth it because they aren't on BD? Saying something lik...

Re: the footage rereleased and remastered
Actually, they're on the Japanese Dragon Box Z sets and look fantastic. Far better than their Blu-Ray counterparts. Resolution doesn't always equate to quality. The colours and contrast are great and the grain is in tact as well as maintaining the 4:3 aspect. It's very nice. If you want to spend a ...

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion
Are these new blu ray sets even good lool? Going beyond simple "lol" responses, yes these BD season sets are decent, depending on how you look at it. They are a marked improvement over the orange brick releases and can really pop on an HD TV. The cleaned up Japanese audio is a huge plus f...

Re: Is super saiyan God the next "Canon" SSj4?
Super Saiyan 4 and Super Saiyan God appear to exist entirely independent of one and other. As such, as opposed to superseding GT's take on a Super Saiyan 4, Super Saiyan God exists outside of both the regular Super Saiyan chain, and more importantly, the continuity in which Super Saiyan 4 exists wi...
