Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
I'm definitely looking forward to seeing them at Youmacon, and I'm glad the schedule's out so that I know where and when to get in line. Though... I do have to question the decision to put the TFS 18+ panel right after the LittleKuriboh roast, in a different room, on a different floor! But, other th...

Dragon Soul melody comparison...
Okay, so for quite some time, there's been something bugging me about "Dragon Soul". Specifically, something about the melody that seemed vaguely familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Well, somehow, something reminded me of a certain late-80s sitcom today, and something just clicke...

Re: Twitter Option under User Control Panel?
It doesn't appear to be saving the information, at least when I tried editing it in my profile. I'd definitely say that was an issue.

Re: Moments When Science Took The Day Off
In the Bardock special, it's possible that they're skirting the edge of the atmosphere proper... The thing that gets me is Freeza easily blowing up a planet...or Piccolo early on destroying the moon with hardly any effort. How did they not blow up the earth in the Android, Cell, and Buu sagas??? Tha...

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Glad to see TFS is coming back to Youmacon... maybe this year I'll actually attend the panels! Although, that'll probably mean camping out for 2-3 hours beforehand, and missing some other stuff... ah, well, I got to meet Brad Swaile the last two Youmacons, and after six years straight, I might final...

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
Going back to episode 20, I've been thinking about what various characters would use for their entrance themes. The first character that comes to mind for me is Freeza. While 「F」 may work for him in other contexts (such as his ringtone), it lacks the grandness, the pompous arrogance that befits the ...

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
I had a total DBZA moment last night when I went to see the latest Transformers movie. In the scene where Seymour asks Dutch his girlfriend's name, I immediately thought "Chuck", only for someone several rows behind me to actually call out "Chuck". So, yeah, it's pretty funny whe...

Kami: "Mr. Popo, what are you watering?" Popo: "Pot." Kami: "Pots of what?" Popo: "Pot... I'm not getting rid of it." Kami: "Are you kidding? That shit's great for my glaucoma." Best ending... EVER!! I watched that part 8 times and still continue to...

Re: DragonBall Z Abridged
If Burter had the fastest time for the opening disclaimer, it only made sense that Super Kami Guru would take the longest to get it out.
I have to say I loved the callback to episode 18 with Vegeta and Gohan.

Re: Tarble's existence - plausible?
Eire, it is basically stylized animation/art, though... I mean, aside from artistic evolution (and changing hairstyles), Yamcha in the special doesn't look any older than at the beginning of DBZ; same for Kuririn (again, the biggest difference for him is his hair). Heck, Yamcha doesn't look that muc...

One thing that's got me curious is how Guru - sorry, Super Kami Guru - is going to be handled regarding his initial death and revival. That's got to be an interesting writing challenge.

Maybe Tarble just suffers from Saiyan growth hormone deficiency.

^That is true. My brother doesn't care about care about little things like that. He's just focused on enjoying the show. Just focused on enjoying the show ... is that even possible? I guess sometimes, you just have to sit back and remember it's just a TV show... and we should really just rela...

Re: Some perspective on Kikuchi's music
DBZ on International Channel... that brings back good memories. (Even if it wasn't subbed, like the other anime they showed...) It's fun to go back to the Gamera movies with Kikuchi's score (especially since two of them were featured on MST3K - and I'm looking forward to ditching my VHS copies when ...
