Re: The Harmony Gold Dub & Broadcast Audio Discussion Thread
Does anyone know Kei17 in real life? He hasn't replied to me or Marc about the original Japanese audio. He's the only one with the tapes, and the key to this whole operation. Without Kei17, Christopher Sabat will never receive the tapes. I've contacted him here by PM and by email at his personal sit...

Is Dragon Ball the first mainstream manga to use Time Skip?
Is Dragon Ball the first mainstream manga to use a time skip? There is a 3-year gap between Goku meeting Son Gohan at Uranai Baba's palace and the start of the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai. Toriyama felt he had to do this time skip in order to draw more realistic characters, due to having to draw more rea...

Re: The Meaning of Goku's Beroberobada Taunt?
Yeah, and that's the attitude that Masako Nozawa says it with in the anime. But I wonder if that's a common noise in Japan, or if the word choice has some greater significance here. I think it's the only time Goku uses this particular phrase.

The Meaning of Goku's Beroberobada Taunt?
What is the meaning of Goku's, “Beroberobaaaaada (ベロベロバーーだ)!!” taunt that he uses against Piccolo Daimao during their battle at the capital? http://imgur.com/fLpDVxp I suspect it's a silly, childish noise made by little kids when they want to taunt someone. That's because Goku makes other noises sim...

Re: The Harmony Gold Dub & Broadcast Audio Discussion Thread
Yeah, I have a high-quality capture of the original tapes and episodes that are better than the YouTube video. This is something only a few people have. Someone here sent them to me. Harmony Gold has a tape that says "DRAGON BALL" on it, but they have no idea what's on the tape. And it's i...

Re: The Harmony Gold Dub & Broadcast Audio Discussion Thread
I contacted Christopher Sabat a couple days ago. Today he agreed to accept the original Japanese broadcast audio! I sent Sabat's delivery address to Kei17. The ball is in his court now, because he has to send the tapes. There's no guarantee that FUNimation will ever use the audio, but Chris will try...

Adam Sheehan just shared a portion of his story on his blog, and titled it 'How Goku Became My Homeboy.'
Adam is the Senior Marketing Manager at FUNimation Entertainment. This is a fun and enlightening story of his experiences with Dragon Ball Z.

Re: Dragon Soul Book - Looking to Tell Your Story
I kinda just threw that Kid Goku thing in for rambling sake. Dunno if I'd bug for that addition, but I do find it fascinating how at least for me, Goku was the first person to break the mold of children being helpless damsels who usually a big strong guy needs to save. In fact a ton of scenes or pa...

Re: Dragon Soul Book - Looking to Tell Your Story
You're talking about two separate points there. And it wouldn't work to put them into the same place. Here's the current paragraph. "I’ll never forget Kame-sennin entering the Tenkaichi Budōkai, and his climatic clash with Goku. I’ll never forget how a young boy made the great Piccolo Daimaō tr...

Re: Dragon Soul Book - Looking to Tell Your Story
I'm working on the ebook download issue with my tech support. Been at it all night. But don't worry, everyone who buys it tonight will get sent the files directly. Brigitte never got back to us, after at least 5 emails and messages imploring her to reply. She said she would, but alas, she never did....

Re: The Harmony Gold Dub & Broadcast Audio Discussion Thread
Since this thread has been revived, I have a couple of questions I would like to ask about the Harmony Gold Dub: 1) I live in the Los Angeles area, where such dub was recorded in. Did this dub ever air on any independent L.A. station; KHJ (now KCAL), KTLA, KCOP, or even the Fox-owned KTTV? 2) Did t...

Re: The Harmony Gold Dub & Broadcast Audio Discussion Thread
It's alive so long as I'm alive. Chris Sabat wants the tapes, he's just too busy to do anything with them. He's always in the middle of some huge project. For example, they're in the middle of recording Resurrection 'F' at the moment. And then on the weekends he goes to conventions. But I need to sp...

Re: The History of Dragon Ball in Every Country
I added a Russian section. Any idea when it first premiered? According to the 2x2 article on Wikipedia, they rebranded themselves in 2002 and started airing anime then. So is that when it aired? Anyone have a specific date of episode 1? The Russian manga was published by Comix-ART. Unfortunately my ...

Re: Happy Goku Day!
Here's my post on Goku day with additional photographs from the sources that Anime News Network linked to, and news about the 30th Anniversary logo and celebration. It's going viral, with over 7,000 Likes in 2 hours. Apparently the people out there like Goku. Herms, according to this wikipedia artic...

Re: The History of Dragon Ball in Every Country
I updated the United Kingdom. Please check it for accuracy. Updated the Polish section. Thanks for the story about the Uwaga! show. That was so fascinating. Is the Poland section good now? Regarding Denmark, I changed the premiere date of Dragon Ball Z episode 1 from "2003" to "August...

Re: The History of Dragon Ball in Every Country
I'll take care of the remaining stuff tomorrow, but I wanted to pass this along because I thought it was cool. I just received an email from Caspar Phillipson, the Danish voice of Goku, and he said: "I think it is correct that it must have aired 2003 to start off with, so I think the Danish fan...

Re: The History of Dragon Ball in Every Country
Quick comment on the France versus Hong Kong thing. The first episode of Dragon Ball anime was broadcast in France on March 3, 1988 on Club Dorothée, an afternoon children’s program on channel TF1. In Hong Kong it premiered on February 21, 1988, on TVB Jade. So the Hong Kongers beat the French to th...

Re: The History of Dragon Ball in Every Country
I updated the Argentina section to reflect new information, including Info on the Magic Kids TV channel. I added the anime info to Paraguay. Still need the manga. I updated the Portugal anime info. MCDaveG mentioned that 'only Germany had its own intro,' but Italy had them as well. The Italian Drago...
