Dragon Ball Z Kai on BD from Kazé [updated 21th november]
DBZ Kai finally gets released on Blu-Ray in France on the 26th november this year. Box 1 contains episodes 1-49, and box 2 episodes 50-98. Each box has 5 Blu-Rays with Japanese and French audio tracks, and French subtitles. They'll be in wide screen, and the sound format will be 2.0. The regular price will be 79,95 €, but 67,95 € if you pre-order from for example here: http://genki-store.com/dragon-ball-kai- ... u-ray.html
Kazé is releasing these. (No, AB has not lost rights from what we know, Kazé just happens to have the BD rights for Kai).

Wow those Blu-ray artwork look awesome but a shame they're missing the Yamamoto score then again, I'm not sure the French ever got their dub with the original music so they missed out on the faithful experience.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

Ah, it was about time they officially revealed the covers and contents.
This is the first time anything related to Dragon Ball will be released on Blu-ray in France! (well, except Dragon Ball Evolution...)
They chose to separate episodes based on numbers and not based on the actual sagas, with precisely 49 episodes on one side, and 49 episodes on the other. Each set has a viewing length of 1225 minutes.
This means that those buying the first boxset will get close to the ending of the Freezer saga, see the final fight begin, and then... "get the other boxset if you want to see the 5 remaining episodes showing how this saga ends".
Alternatively, those buying the second boxset will see the 5 last episodes of the Freezer saga before seeing the whole Cell saga.
If there was, it would have been replaced in this new release anyway, just like for new Kai releases of the Freezer and Cell sagas in all countries.

Unfortunately no, the French dub was recorded after the scandal happened, so there never was any existing version of the French dub with the Yamamoto score.dbboxkaifan wrote:Wow those Blu-ray artwork look awesome but a shame they're missing the Yamamoto score then again, I'm not sure the French ever got their dub with the original music so they missed out on the faithful experience.

^ Interesting, Kai blu-rays are classified for 12 years old and more. If you're not at least a teenager, Dragon Ball is too mature for you!
That's when you see the difference between the perception of the Japanese market and the perception of the international market regarding what's meant for kids or not.

Bigger images of the covers, and a 16/9 aspect ration has been confirmed through the declic-images.com site. (They cost 71 euro a piece here)

These boxes are absolutely gorgeous.
Question: Do they come with booklets? Because for 71€ that's a premium price worth having much more than just a cover, case and discs.

I hope we get a release of Kai in the UK. Not really fond of the orange bricks. And I'm definitely not fond of it's dub either.

Also now at Kazé site. VegettoEX, it doesn't get more official than this:

And for those wondering, yes, they'll be wide screen. And the sound format will be 2.0

Ahh that sucks. Considering that its Blu Ray, I really would have wished for it to be in 5.1...Seems like the original JP DVD release

Well, the original Japanese release was in 4:3.TheKingOfKamehamehas wrote:Ahh that sucks. Considering that its Blu Ray, I really would have wished for it to be in 5.1...Seems like the original JP DVD release

No, that was just the Blu-ray. The Japanese DVD was in 16:9 (and it was a really terrible downscale, too).

Kazé have revealed the contents and boxart for their first half of the Majin Buu Saga release for Blu-Ray & DVD. It looks quite nice, and is well presented, FUNimation should take note of this.
