- 1 “Tako-nyūdō”, literally “octopus monk”, is a derogatory term for a shaved-headed Buddhist monk (sometimes used for someone with no hair in general, hence #18 calling Kuririn “octopus”). Here, the usual meaning is replaced by literal meaning in the next line, arriving at fried octopus balls (takoyaki). It makes more sense if you’ve had some of what Gohan’s on.
