Color Chapter Collection

While the vast majority of the Dragon Ball manga was drawn in black and white, some chapters were done in color. This was much more common when the series was first starting out, but color chapters grew fewer and farther between as the series progressed. Of these color chapters, the vast majority of them start out with two to four pages in a full color palette, then switch to a limited palette (chiefly red and grey) for the rest of the chapter. So for instance, in full color palette pages, Goku wears orange and Piccolo is green, but in the limited palette pages Goku wears red and Piccolo is gray.

In total, there were only two chapters that were done entirely in a full color palette: 81 and 205. There are also some color chapters that were partially drawn in color (typically only a limited color palette of red and grey), then switches to a simple black and white. This was fairly common at first, but became quite rare as the series progressed. Fortunately the kanzenban release retained all of the original color pages, including all partial and limited color palettes. The majority, but not all, of the full-color pages were first re-printed in Daizenshuu 2.
