Ishizuka's Satan is decent so far, though it's impossible to live up to the original. And they really skimmed through the stuff with Satan's students. Next episode (which I think is two weeks away?) starts Gokuu vs Cell.

This was much better than expected. This is the first time I hear Ishizuka's Satan, and he does a pretty impressive job considering who he has to live up to. A lot of us probably feared that the Satan Gang would pretty much take over the second half of the episode, but Toei did a very good job of trimming the filler to the bone. The gang showed up, introduced themselves, fought, lost and went to the sidelines all in 2 or 3 minutes. There'd be no way to axe them from Kai completely, but at least we didn't get to waste more time on them than absolutely necessary.

Gah, damn it, I was out at a Christmas dinner. May I ask for which episodes and chapters were covered? I suspect it was episodes #176-177, but I'd like to be sure.

I quickly checked and this episode finishes off the last few pages of 394 and covers 395 and 396 (apart for the last couple of panels)
Also it covered the rest of episode #175 and #176 of 'Z'.

Ishizuka's Mr Satan was great this episode, an excellent replacement choice.
Also bravo to Toei for cutting Satan's flunky bullshit to a bare minimum.

This time I actually checked, and Kanzentai doesn't have the title for the next title up in their episode guide. So here we go.

And the one time I get to have a go, it's not even that interesting or anything to have to make an effort with. ^^;;

Because of another post, I expected 16 to have a pretty new CC-logo on his armor. I really laughed at the crooked sticker.

I'm always gonna miss Daisuke Gori as Mr. Satan, that being said Unsho Ishizuka is a phenomenal replacement, and he just started! Unlike most other recasts in Kai, he is just going in with such gusto. Though the Buu arc will be the true test to see just how he handles the character, I'm not disappointed thus far. More over, Toei did great with how they edited Satan's students. How quickly they're introduced and defeated made the gag more funny then it ever was in Z.

Heh, I wonder if Chris Rager could possibly be better than Unshou Ishizuka when he appears in Kai. If anything, I'd say that their tied in terms of how their voices fit the character.
