Episode Summary

It is another peaceful day in Penguin Village. Arale greets all her friends, smashing up the police patrol car on the way like always, and asks Senbe what he is up to. Senbe is heading off to West City, but refuses to take Arale along with him. It turns out that West City is hosting the World Invention Award, to recognize the world’s greatest inventor and their invention. Bulma is attending as well, with Vegeta and Trunks as her special guests.

Goku is outside the venue as a security guard; a part-time job that Mr. Satan pulled strings to get him. However he quickly gets bored and sneaks off, switching from his suit to his normal martial arts uniform.

Inside, Mr. Satan is the master of ceremonies for the event, and announces the winner: Senbe Norimaki of Penguin Village! Senbe comes up to give a speech. Though people have mocked him by calling him “Dr. Slump”, he will prove his brilliance with his latest invention: the Reality Machine Mach 2, which resembles a strange robotic cooking pot.

At first this pot has nothing inside, but after Senbe concentrates for a moment, it produces a dirty magazine! Senbe explains that the Reality Machine produces whatever one imagines in one’s mind. Mr. Satan tries it out, producing a Mr. Satan key chain. Meanwhile, a figure approaches from offstage, chanting “rejected, rejected, rejected…”

It is Senbe’s nemesis, the nefarious Dr. Mashirito! Senbe checks the relevant volume of the Dr. Slump manga to confirm that Mashirito died long ago, but Mashirito explains that he is a ghost returned from Hell. And he is not alone: he has brought Arale and her friends the two Gatchans with him. Now even Arale is chanting, “rejected, rejected…”

Mashirito reveals that he has given Arale and the Gatchans a drug that increases their desire to play 100-fold. Now they will be out of control! Mr. Satan tries “playing” with her, but is quickly sent flying. He tells the crowd to get to safety, assuring them that he will handle this… then he goes and asks Vegeta to take care of it. Vegeta squares off against Arale, but before he knows what hits him, she knocks him straight through the wall and out of the building.

As Goku sits around in the park outside napping, Vegeta crashes behind him. Arale follows after him, and though Vegeta knocks her around the world, she is soon back for more. With her strength, Vegeta realizes she must be a gag character, and that therefore his normal tactics will not apply. He points and shouts “hey look, a UFO!”, then pummels her as she is distracted. Though Arale’s head gets knocked off, she gets right back up and puts it on again. She is a robot, after all! Arale counterattacks, splitting the Earth in half, and then knocks Vegeta far off into the distance with a headbutt.

That headbutt jogs Goku’s memory! He and Arale finally remember each other, and start a playful battle for old time’s sake. Goku becomes Super Saiyan Blue, and Arale fires off one of her trademark N’Cha Cannons, which Goku counters with a Kamehameha.

The two blasts cancel each other out, but Arale declares that the next one she fires will be 100 times stronger! Bulma decides she had better bring in Beerus to take care of things before the situation gets even more out of hand. She contacts Whis, who unfortunately tells her Beerus has just gone to sleep, and even he does not dare to try and wake him up.

Senbe and Trunks keep trying to catch Mashirito, but since he is a ghost, they just pass straight through him. Trunks cries out “crap!” in frustration, which gives Senbe an idea. Crap is exactly what they need! He has his Reality Machine create some poop to distract Arale with, and Trunks reluctantly flings it her way.

While this temporarily puts a stop to Goku and Arale’s battle, it will not last long. Bulma uses the TV camera covering the award ceremony to ask people watching at home to imagine the most delicious food they can. Soon Senbe’s Reality Machine produces a small dark ball. Sensing this all the way from his planet, Beerus instantly wakes up and has Whis take him to Earth in record time.

Mashirito wonders who Beerus is and tells him to get lost, but Beerus immediately destroys him. Ghost or no ghost, Whis explains, there is nothing Beerus cannot destroy! Beerus gobbles up the mysterious dark ball and is overcome by its extreme tastiness. When Arale starts bothering him (“hey look, a big cat!”) he knocks her back and starts to charge up a blast to destroy her, too.

However, Beerus is suddenly overcome by what seems to be indigestion, and has Whis take him back home at once. Bulma speculates that the food was simply too tasty for even a god’s stomach to handle, but Trunks thinks the problem was how immediately prior to creating that food, they had used the machine to make poop…

Either way, the effects of Mashirito’s medicine have now worn off, and Mr. Satan assures Senbe that he will take care of the destruction of the award hall, (which was eaten by the Gatchans, and all the other damage. Senbe and co. drive home, with Arale waving goodbye to Goku. They promise to battle again someday.

Bulma is likewise ready to go home; all this excitement has got her riled up to go invent! Trunks wonders if they are forgetting something… Vegeta, hanging off a branch over a deep ravine somewhere on the other side of the planet, vows to never fight another gag character!
